Today I spoke in Ottawa’s West End about recent legal developments in the ag-biotech industry.
The presentation was part of a series of invited lectures on “Aspects
of Canadian Law.” It was quite refreshing to discuss these legal issues
with an intelligent and enthusiastic group of non-lawyers. The
experience highlighted two things to me: first, the non-legal
community’s keen interest in intellectual property, tort and technology
law issues, and second, the value to me of engaging these topics
amongst a group of people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
