For most of the month of August I'll be crisscrossing Africa working on the ACA2K project. The lead researcher, Dick Kawooya, and I are meeting with teams of researchers in each of the project's study countries. The trip will take us through Egypt, Morocco, Senegal, Ghana,
Mozambique and South Africa, and from there Dick will carry on to visit
Kenya and Uganda.
We'll be getting updates on the progress of research, sharing experiences we've learned from other study countries, solving problems and overcoming obstacles teams have encountered. We're also meeting some of the key stakeholders in universities, libraries, publishing organizations and government departments throughout the continent.
I'd like to say I'll post regular updates after visiting each country, but as you might imagine, our schedule is pretty hectic. At the very least I'll have a report on preliminary findings when we wrap up around the end of the month.
