This paper was prepared for the Uniform Law Conference of Canada, and examines alternative methods of supporting Canadian authors and other creators. Such methods include exclusive copyrights, levies on proxy goods or services and public funding programs. It was presented in August, 2005 at the Conference’s annual meeting in St. John’s.
